The Cemetery Was on Ground Bought for Camp Crowder in the 1940's and Closed to the Public until a New Road Was Constructed in 1967.
A Deed, Dated 5-28-1879 from Silas and Rebecca Mcbee to A.P. Gibson
and Joseph Powe as Trustees of Elm Springs Cemetery, Gave "To Be Used as
a Public Burying Ground & the Said Trustees Are Hereby Prohibited from
Making Any Charge for Burial on Said Ground". Burials Had Been Made for
Several Years Prior to 1879 and the Sale of the Land to the Trustees.
