I am looking for information on Alfred Lorenzo YATES and Laura Belle REAGAN, who were married in Neosho in august of 1900. various members of their family also show up on the 1900 census in Neosho and Newtonia. Alfred's father was Garland Herst YATES and his mother was Salina WILSON or MCINTYRE. Laura's parents were Thomas REAGAN and Harriet Mills ROBERTS. The REAGAN's lived in Swain County, North Carolina before moving to Missouri. The Yates were originally from Floyd County, Kentucky but lived for an unknown period of time in Arkansas before moving to Newton County. Laura and Alfred's first three sons were born in Neosho. The family later moved to Muskogee County, Oklahoma, where they lived for an unknown period of time before moving to San Bernardino County, California. Salina is believed to have died in San Diego, her husband in Colton, California. Laura and Alfred are also buried in Colton, California.

I am looking for any information on Henry T. Seitz and his wife Johanna. Henry must have died between 1900 and 1910. His daughter, Anna Van Eaton lived in Neosho, Newton county, Missouri on about 1913 and she told her sister in Iowa that their father's grave had sunk in and needed to be filled in. In her letter, she refered to "out there" when talking about the grave. Henry and Johanna were both born in Germany. Henry in 1815 and Johanna in 1823.

 William T. ELAM, brother to James Henry ELAM, was born in 1844 in Fayette, Illinois. He married Lydia Elvira CHAMP, 18 Sept. 1864 in Greene, Missouri. Their children were:

She was married to Lirkin (Larkin) Snodgrass 1822-1904. They had 3 sons and 3 daughters. Sarah-Mrs. Julius Fischer, Francis-Mrs.Charles Payn Gallienne. This is all the info about her I have. I don't know her maiden name. Any help is welcome.

I'm looking for descendants of Thomas King Hooper, b. 20 Oct 1805. His son Jacob, my 2nd great grandfather married Catherine Marie Spears b. 1850 in Newton Co., MO. Catherine's parents were John & Luvina Spurgeon Spears aka Jock and Jenny Spears. I do know that between 1860 and 1880 Hoopers, Spears, and Spurgeons lived in Newton County. Oral history has it that the Hoopers and Spears were close friends of Belle Starr. The Coppenbargers of Newton County also married into the Hooper family, Mary Elizabeth Hooper, brother of Thomas King Hooper married a Jacob Coppenbarger in the 1820's. Mary d. 25 Dec 1880 and is buried in Newton Co. Also, a long shot, I'm looking for the family of a Eli and Pearl Thompson. Pearl married Jacob's son John my great grandfather. Please help!

My maternal great grandmother,Rose Ellen Smith Nichols, remarried after the death of my great grandfather, Saulsbury Nichols. They were the parents of Fannie Virginia Nichols who was born in Seneca ,Newton County, Mo. in 1889. My great grand mother had two sons by her second husband a Mr.Jone): Walter(Claude)and Elmer, who were born ca. 1892 and ca. 1895. The location of their birth is unknown. Seeking information on George W. Grace, who lived in the Neosho area,and enlisted on the Union side during the Civil War. He died during his term of service after contracting black fever. Looking for information on John Wesley WALLACE(1861-1949) Second wife was Lula M. (1874-1957) My best information is that they lived south of Joplin. He ran a sorghum mill at one time. Great grand-father supposedly died in Neosho, Missouri, sometime after the Civil War.  He and two sons came and opened up a blacksmith/butcher shop (unk which or maybe both)  Some catastrophe (fire?) occurred and the sons decided to return to Illinois.  Father WILLIAM RHYNES  died before he could return..  He is supposed to be buried there.  Could anyone help me?  Dates are probably 1870-1885.

Looking for any information on a David FULTON and family that lived in Neosho, Newton County, MO. He lived in Neosho around 1860's. Family history indicates he was in the Civil War from Neosho and was poisoned as a prisoner. His wife died a year later of grief.  A son James Louis FULTON has born 1/25/1862.  I understand he may have been a Capt. for the Union (??).  This is unconfirmed.
